Happy New year

Already the year has gone by so quickly. Our wedding day was the best part of the year. Looking forward for better things in 2012.
One of my new year resolution is to learn new cooking technics.

Raw chocolate mouse

I made this mouse with avocado, coconut water, chocolate powder and dates all blended together, it's actually delicious. It really taste like a chocolate pudding but healthier for you.

Opening gift with our nephews

We are in San Jose at Jessica's brother new house they just bought it and its really big in a great neighborhood in Los Gatos we are here with Erin & Brenden. Makenna is 4y/o we got her a make up bag she loves it because she can look like a princess, Erin got her a gingerbread house to build and paint. Brogan is 9 months old we got him a rolling baby toy to help him crawl on the floor. It's our first christmas as a married couple.

First time brunch at Nopa

I'm eating a Wood Grilled Chorizo with poached eggs, pimiento spiced beans, collard greens and dumpling squash. It's pretty and delicious.

I was so happy today, I was going so fast in those runs down the hill with a big smile on my face! I'm totally rejuvenated :)

An other beautiful snowboarding day!!!!

Today was Jessica 5th day snowboarding she progressed a lot but I wish she can break the fear of falling, she felled one time and was ready to give up, I want to encourage her to keep on trying. She said now she will!!
The snow was better than at Squaw but it's still man made snow.
We might come back to North Star tomorrow.

Cocktail hour at the Ritz

We've been riding all day today, filling for a little cocktail. We are at the Ritz Carlton the only one in lake Tahoe.

The smallest kitchen I ve cooked in years

We rented this little studio in Squaw Valley and they said they had a fully equipped kitchen but didn't say it was the smallest!! Anyway funny enough we still cooked some French specialties with lots of melted cheese. Have you heard of Tartiflette?

Après ski

We got a lift tickets discount today because there was only 1 trail open, can you believe it? There is no snow, it was only hand made snow and we managed to go down 7 times on ice :-)
Now that the sun is down it got pretty cold so we are grabbing a little glass "O" wine!!

Mini vacation in Tahoe!

Just arrived we left San Francisco at 530 this morning so beautiful today! the sun is shining. The temperature is chilly but do excited to be in this fresh mountain air!!!

So this was last minute but last night Michael texted me see if we were free to go grab a drink. Everytime he comes to the bay area we like to meet up at Rickhouse Michael loves that place. The Voltaggio Brothers

We were supposed to only get one drink but I think it always end up more than just one.
One of my all times favorite at Rickhouse is the "Laphroaig Project" its a smokey scotch and they use chartreuse lemon juice and more... at Rickhouse, speakeasy cocktails

She is such a good wife ;) 4 different sushi done in 1 hour, I don't have to cook tonight :)

Our first Thanksgiving dinner together

 

Last Thursday was our first thanksgiving dinner as a married couple, Erin and Jessica cooked all the sides and the turkey while Mattin made some chocolate-coconut treats.

Fish stew of rainbow trout, Manila clams, saffron, grilled bread and rouille. Bring us back to the basque country.
